Party in Block Party
– a heartwarming comedy/drama about a super-achieving
young superstar who gains a new respect for both her mother and
the ‘hood she grew up in. It’s a starring vehicle for a performer/actor.
Although
sexy young hip hop star Madame CJ says she’s ‘from the
block’, she much prefers her luxurious new life in Manhattan.
In fact, she’s ecstatic that she escaped her working
class roots. Her
mother’s not impressed with CJ’s newfound riches, however,
especially since CJ’s career is driven by sexy lyrics and even
sexier outfits.
Superstar
CJ finds herself trapped back in the old neighborhood when her
disapproving mother falls ill. In a bid to win her mother’s approval, CJ agrees to
coordinate the neighborhood’s annual block party (which her
mom has proudly organized for many years). In the process of
dealing with a colorful cast of local characters to put on the
best party ever, CJ reacquaints herself with the neighborhood
she abandoned three years earlier -- and ultimately realizes she
comes to love her roots before she can regain her
mother's respect and restore her self-esteem.
