Sonya
Y. maddox (rose)
Born
and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Sonya
Y. Maddox is one of America’s most recognized
commercial actresses. Having appeared in over 100 commercials
for companies like Subway, Purina Dog Chow, Kodak, American
Express, AT&T and Coca-Cola,
Sonya was also chosen as the face for Dove’s January 2003
campaign.
It
was Alan Rudolph who gave Sonya her first break in 1987’s Made
in Heaven starring Timothy Hutton and Kelly McGillis.
A Single Rose
marks Sonya’s first starring role, with co-starring
appearances in several indies, including I
Do
the White Thing and Sleep
Away Camp III. Sonya’s
extensive resume also includes guest starring and recurring
roles in television, including Malcolm in the Middle, The
Wayans Bros., Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Murder She Wrote, Kids Like
These opposite Tyne Daly, The
Bold & The Beautiful, General Hospital, and The
Young and the Restless, to name a few.
Sonya
has also appeared in dozens of critically acclaimed theatrical
productions. She is currently working on an autobiographical
one-woman show, Wonder. Wonder is an emotional two
hours that bursts into song, another of Sonya's passions. A
classically trained singer, Sonya has been performing since
childhood and is actively pursuing a career as a
singer-songwriter. She can be heard on three of the
tracks for A Single Rose. Her eponymous CD will be
released Fall of 2004 through her publishing company
Wondervision Music & Entertainment.

andrews (owens)
A
native of Houston, Texas, Russell
Andrews began his acting career at The Ensemble Theater
in Houston. He
later moved on to the Alley Theater to perform in productions of
Joe Turner's Come and Gone,
Ma' Rainey's Black Bottom and Miss
Evers' Boys. In
the following years he appeared in numerous national commercials
and regional theater productions.
He has also played memorable and well-received guest
starring roles on Cosby, Homicide: Life on the
Street and The Bernie
Mac Show.
Recently,
Russell added the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award to his list
of honors as he played the role of Youngblood in August Wilson's
Jitney.
Russell can also be seen co-starring opposite Michael
Douglas and Albert Brooks in Warner Bros. release of The
In-Laws, directed by Andy Fleming.

bianca
lopez (younger rose)
Born
and raised in Hollywood, California, Bianca
Lopez was a veteran actor in theatre by the time she
entered adolescence. At five years old she began acting classes
at the Lee Strasberg Institute, where she starred in Beauty
and The Beast, West Side Story, Alienation, Growing Up, College
I and College II, along
with several others. After graduating from The Los Angeles High
School of Performing Arts in 2001, she enrolled in the American
Academy of Dramatic Arts, which she attends currently.
Outside
of the theatre, Bianca co-starred in the Disney film, The
Princess Diaries. She also appeared on television as a guest
lead in Odd Man Out
and as a co-star on ER
and Even Stevens. Bianca received her training from Tepper Gallegos
Commercial Workshop, The SAG Conservatory/
Young
Performers Workshop and the Lee Strasberg Institute.

MARCI
T. HOUSE is a newcomer to the West Coast.
Hailing from the city of Chicago, she is a graduate of
Louisiana Tech University and the University of Illinois.
Marci has appeared on Early
Edition, Party of Five, The District, Arrest & Trial,
and in the feature film The
Court.
Also a talented voice-over artist, she can be heard on
many of Urban Entertainment’s web-based animated shows,
including Pookie Poo,
Sistas ‘N the City, and Those
Who Walk in Darkness.

Sonya
Eddy, a California native, is a well-respected
commercial, television, film and stage actor.
While studying at UC Davis, Sonya’s acting career began
with the production of Ruby Dee’s Zora,
Is My Name! Sonya
went on to perform in many plays, including the role of Bloody
Mary in South Pacific, for which she won an Arty Award.
With
her range and versatility, Sonya is requested regularly for
sitcoms, with recurring roles on Seinfeld,
The Drew Carey Show, and
Arliss. Sonya is also a regular on Martin Short’s Primetime Glick. Her
guest starring roles are numerous, including ER,
Touched by an Angel, Judging Amy, Home
Improvement, Murphy Brown, 3rd Rock From the Sun,
Tracey Takes On…, Mad T.V. and many more.
She has also had her share of roles in many films,
including Patch Adams, The Nutty
Professor II, The
Limey, Minority Report, Inspector Gadget, and Ice Cube’s Barbershop.
Sonya recently wrapped production on Ridley Scott’s Matchstick
Men and Eddie Murphy’s Daddy
Daycare.

KENO
K. deary (lee)
Born
and raised in Compton California, Keno
K. Deary first set foot on stage at the age of three
performing with various theatrical ensembles. He has had two
films enter into the Sundance Film Festival. In 1998 he starred
in A Hollow Place, a
sleek adaptation of Edger Allan Poe’s short story “The
Tell-Tale Heart”. Also in 2001 he co-starred in Macarthur
Park, a film that was in competition and garnered high
praise.
He
is currently starring, directing, and producing a documentary
film entitled Keno’s Kidney based on his life. It’s a true story about his
kidney failure and transplant, which was donated by a
half-brother he had no contact with for 11 years. It also looks
at the effect a major surgery can have on a family.

LAWRENCE
B. ADISA (younger owens)
Born
and raised in Mt Vernon, New York, Lawrence
Adisa has been acting for over ten years. He began his
career in New York City’s theatres in the early nineties and
then moved into television and film. He has formally studied
acting at HB Studios and the Black Filmmaker Foundation. Clockers,
a Spike Lee Joint, was his first major role.
Lawrence has since guest starred on numerous television
shows, including NY
Undercover, Mad About You, Newsradio, NYPD
Blue, and 7th Heaven. He can be seen in Play’d,
a film directed by by Oz Scott, which is currently airing on
VH1.

Micaela
Beckwith (younger ella)
A native of Los
Angeles, Micaela Beckwith
began acting almost as soon as she could talk.
She later took her abilities a step further while
attending Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, starring
in such productions as World
of Dark Enchantments and The
Stonecutter. It
was during the performance of one of these productions that a
music executive from Soulwerkz/Universal discovered her and
offered her a recording contract.
Micaela sang background vocals with Sunshine Anderson.
After two years, Micaela returned her focus to her first
love, acting, and enrolled in the Margie Haber Studios.

E. anderson (god’s gift)
Hailing
from the South Side of Chicago, Rico
E. Anderson's professional acting career began in the San
Francisco Bay Area, performing in over 30 plays and many
independent films.
Most recently, Rico starred as the Reverend Marcus in the
feature film String Theory,
which won the Audience Award at the 2002 Dances with Films
Festival and played at the 2002 Indivision Film Festival in New
York and the 2002 Tahoe International Film Festival.
Professional theatre credits include Danny Glover's For
The Love of Freedom Trilogy, which won the NAACP Image Award
for Best Theatre Ensemble, The Last Season, which is currently nominated for the 2002 Los
Angeles Ovation Award, the African-American Shakespeare
Company’s Oedipus the
King and the Towne Street Theatre’s Joleta
and The Phonograph.
Currently, Rico is starring in Towne Street’s An
American Tract.

EdgEr
McMoore
(Uniform)
With
extensive training from the School for Film and Television in
New York and the Bobby Chance Studio, Edger
McMoore
most recently took the lead role in the film The
Double Dog Dare.
Edger has appeared as a supporting actor in many films,
appearing in such pictures as Ali,
Baby Boy and popular
television shows like E.R.,
Family Law, Six
Feet Under and Disappearing Acts.
Besides television and film, Edger has played the lead in
the plays, A Few Good Men,
Angels In The Streets, Mountain
Mover and The Wizard
of Oz.
Edger also works as a model.

millines (bartender)
Jackie
Millines
studied and performed with the Black Image Theater Group in
Atlanta, which boasts such luminaries as Samuel L. Jackson.
Jackie also studied on scholarship at the legendary Lee
Strasberg Institute. Most
recent past credits includes multiple episodes on ER
portraying social worker Thomas Anders.
Jackie has had guest appearances on shows such as The
Court, Bold and the Beautiful, and most recently on General Hospital.

lauren (sadie)
JENNIFER
LAUREN grew up studying and performing theater in Washington,
DC, most prominently The
Waiting at the John F. Kennedy Center.
She performed in numerous plays with the Duke Ellington
School of the Arts Theatre before moving to Los Angeles, where
she has appeared in many commercials, films and plays.
Recently, Jennifer starred in Nothing
So Strange, which screened at Slamdance in 2002 and
generated such a buzz that it was written up in People
magazine and Variety. Currently,
Jennifer is studying with Cinda Jackson at the Lost Studio.
Jennifer is also a documentary filmmaker.
