meier is
a television executive at the TV One cable network. Jeff
has previously consulted for Sony Pictures Digital, MGM
Television, E! International and Blackbelt TV.
As an executive, Jeff served as VP, Programming for
Telemundo and also worked at Columbia TriStar, where he put
together programming concepts for numerous cable channels around
the globe. Raised
in Cherry Hill, NJ, Jeff received his B.A. from Harvard
University before beginning his career in Manhattan during the
opening years of Comedy Central.
ROBIN
GREEN (PRODUCER)
Robin
Green
is a 20-year veteran in the industry, most recently serving as
President, Television for Spike Lee’s 40 Acres & A Mule
Filmworks. Previously,
she was Senior Vice President of Television Development at
Castle Rock, where she worked from 1989-2001.
She was directly involved in their hit comedy series Seinfeld,
as well as The Michael
Richards Show, The
Single Guy, and Boston
Common. Earlier
in her career, Robin was Director of Current Programs at
Columbia where her responsibilities included supervising the
production of Silver
Spoons, 227 and The
Charmings, amongst other shows.
Originally
from New York City, Robin is a member of the Academy of
Television Arts and Sciences, as well as Women in Film.
She holds a M.A. degree in Communications Management from
USC’s Annenberg School of Communications.
Linda
zufall (producer)
Linda
Zufall
grew up in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, IL.
She studied Television Production at College of DuPage in
Glen Ellen, IL, which led her to a position in the advertising
department of McDonald’s Corporation’s corporate office in
Oak Brook, IL. After
5 years of coordinating advertising production in Oak Brook,
Linda transferred to Los Angeles to open and manage McDonald’s
new Production Center. Linda
spent the next 25 years managing this facility and acting as a
Technical Director for the production of McDonald’s TV
commercials. She
currently works as a Production Services Manager for Omnicom/DDB
Worldwide, servicing the McDonald’s account.
Richard
Courtney (Producer)
Richard
Courtney
is originally from New York where he produced for the stage such
plays as Giovanni's Room
and Modigliani. He is especially proud of originating a yearly theatrical benefit
with The Violence Intervention Project that benefits
domestically abused children and their mothers. Since moving to
Los Angeles, Richard has produced various projects
including Much Further...
Much Bigger, A.N.I.
1240
and 13 PSA's
for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
He has also been a production coordinator for
AFI’s Directing Workshop for Woman program.
Currently Richard is working with Pilgrim Films as the
Casting Producer for the Department of Defense and a new series
for the Discovery Channel.
Richard
graduated with a BA in Theatre from New Paltz in New York, and
with honors from the BA Performing Arts program at Middlesex
University in London, UK. In addition to producing, he is an
accomplished actor, appearing in several TV series, films, and
commercials.
Anette
haellmigk (director of photography)
Anette
Haellmigk
is a highly skilled Director of Photography with over 20 years
of experience in cinematography, shooting many indie and studio
feature films, television, commercials and documentaries in both
the US and Europe. A
student of fine arts at Munich Art Academy -- her career in
cinematography began in Germany, apprenticing under the wing of
Jost Vacano, on Das Boot.
Anette’s abilities regarding framing, composition led
Vacano to invite her to serve as A-Camera Operator on Paul
Verhoeven’s Robocop
and Total Recall.
Verhoeven then insisted that Anette serve as the 2nd
Unit Director of Photography on the ground-breaking CGI
extravaganza Starship
Troopers and Hollow
Man.
Anette
served as DP on Cinema/Vérité
and the pilot for The
Beast.
Most
recently, Anette worked with John Bailey on the DV feature Anniversary
Party and the Warner Bros. release Divine
Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
Currently, she is second unit DP for NBC’s hit
television series The
West Wing.
Eric
Schusterman (eDITOR)
With
vast experience as an Assistant Editor, Eric
Schusterman has worked on several successful films, his
most recent being Mayor
of The Sunset Strip, a rock documentary directed by George
Hickenlooper about the infamous KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer.
Eric
has worked on a number of popular films including, Dances
With Wolves, Last Of
The Mohicans, This
Boys Life, Coneheads, Nell,
Life and Bedazzled.
Now a veteran editor, Eric has worked a full range of film
genres and has had the fortune to work with a myriad of
influential directors, such as Kevin Costner, Michael Mann, Ted
Demme, Harold Ramis and most recently with director Curtis
Hanson, as assistant editor on the highly acclaimed film 8
Mile, starring Eminem.
Originally
from Chicago, Eric spent his childhood growing up in various
cities including New Orleans and Louisville, Kentucky. He
graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BA in Theater
and went on to receive an MFA in Acting at the University of
Southern California.
JOHN
BIGHAM (MUSIC AND SCORE)
JOHN
BIGHAM began his professional music career in Los Angeles, CA
recording and touring with jazz legend Miles Davis.
In 1990, John was asked to join the popular Funk-Ska band
Fishbone. John
played with Fishbone for 8 years, and was a contributing writer
to several of their albums between 1991 and 1996.
John also appeared on Bruce Hornsby’s album Harbor
Lights, playing a guitar duet with Jerry Garcia on one track
and with Bonnie Raitt on another.
Since
leaving Fishbone, John has toured with Everlast, Cree Summer and
Rosey, and has
appeared on albums by Rosey, Eminem and Joi.
In 1997, John paired up with bassist Christopher Thomas
to form The Soul of John Black.
The band recently signed with No Mayo Records.
EVE
BRANDSTEIN (CASTING DIRECTOR)
Also
an alum of AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women, Eve
Brandstein has been in charge of talent and casting for
PAX-TV since its inception in 1998.
Some of the series she is responsible for include Mysterious
Way, The
Ponderosa, Doc, Christy
and many television movies including The
Miracle of The Cards, and Anna’s
Dream.
Earlier
in her career, Eve spent 10 years working for Bud Yorkin and
Norman Lear, casting many of their great hit shows of the 80’s
before moving on to become the executive in charge of U.S.
Talent and Casting for Alliance/Atlantis Entertainment.
There, she was responsible for development of new
projects such as Diane Keaton’s Northern
Lights for Disney Channel, the series Fast
Track for Showtime, the feature film Strike,
the series Due South,
John Woo’s Once A Thief,
Total Recall - The Series,
and Beastmaster to
name a few.
AVERI
S. BELL (COSTUME DESIGNER)
Averi
S. Bell
has been working as designer in the Los Angeles fashion
community for as long as she can remember. She has served as
costume designer for numerous independent feature projects that
have garnered attention at film festivals throughout the world,
including Sundance and The Toronto International Film Festival.
With an extensive background in historical design, Averi has
also fabricated costumes for theatrical productions and
reenactments. Currently she is developing her own commercial
line of clothing under the moniker Chemline.
ISABELLE
S. TRIMBLE (PRODUCTION DESIGNER/ART DIRECTOR)
Isabelle
S. Trimble is a visual artist and filmmaker/actor from England,
now living between Los Angeles and London. Isabelle was
inspired to take on the challenge of A Single Rose by the
description “a visual blues song,” which included conceiving and
building a blues joint set from scratch on the AFI soundstage.
Currently, Isabelle is working on a series of video art
installations, a feature film script and a documentary about the
circus industry’s abuse of animals. Places of Mystery
(Discovery, PBS) and Kiss Me Guido (Paramount Pictures)
have featured several of her paintings. She has exhibited in
New York, Los Angeles and soon in London. Publications of art
by Isabelle (aka Suzanne) include Spin Magazine and
The Pig Magazine, compiled by artist Damien Hirst and
published by 'The Cohen Gallery' in New York. High Tea,
a short film, Isabelle wrote, directed, art directed and acted
in, is due for festival submission in '05.
